New Covid Policies Take Effect

  • Date:

Starting February 1, we are changing our Covid policies.

(Full policies can be viewed here.)

In particular, two policies are changing: the booster requirement and the types of masks considered sufficient protection.

  1. Booster requirement update
    1. Previously, we required full vaccination and at least one booster dose.
    2. Going forward, we are requiring full vaccination and the option of either
      1. at least one booster dose
      2. proof of rapid test with negative result, taken the same day as the event
    3. The policy language is as follows:

Attendees must provide proof of booster vaccination dose OR proof of a rapid test (with a negative result) taken by the attendee on the same day as the event.

Acceptable forms of proof for booster vaccination follow the same policies as those described in the Vaccination section above.

Acceptable forms of proof for rapid test include: attendee performs the testing on site, waiting the full 15 minutes before presenting the test strip to the front desk, or attendee performs the test earlier in the day and photographs themselves with the test strip with the result clearly visible. In the latter case, the photograph must be taken on a phone, and must be displayed to the front desk on the phone with which the photo was taken (so that the original metadata is intact).

    4. If you have shown proof of booster dose at past events and we have your information on file, that will continue to be sufficient at future events.
  1. Masking requirement update
    1. Previously, we prohibited cloth masks but allowed surgical masks, and N95, KN95, or KF94 masks.
    2. Going forward, we are prohibiting cloth and surgical masks, and we are requiring N95, KN95, or KF94 masks.
    3. The policy language is as follows:

All attendees are required to wear a face mask while indoors at a Cal Dance Co-op event, except for brief sips of water. Please wear either an N95, KN95, or KF94 mask that covers the nose, mouth, and chin. Cloth or surgical masks alone will not be considered sufficient protection.
