Musician Workshop: Playing for Contra Dances

Calling all musicians (and aspiring musicians)!
We’re hosting a special event to build a foundation of our Los Angeles musician community.
Frank Hoppe will teach a workshop on playing music for contra dances. Topics include choosing tunes, working with callers, understanding the musical structure of contra dances, and more!
Whether you’re a dancer who plays (or is learning to play) an instrument, or whether you’re an experienced musician, we want you to join us!
Altadena Community Church
The workshop is $10 (pay-what-you-can), and all workshop attendees get free admission to the contra dance that immediately follows the workshop. See details for the dance on our website or on facebook.
