Some Additional Information:
Learning the Dances
At the ball, each dance will have a walk-through and will be lightly prompted, but will not be taught in detail. It is expected that the dancers have a knowledge of ECD figures and are able to dance with minimal prompting. The dances on the program range from very simple to quite complex. Three of the dances, Hortonia, Measured Obsession, and Whately Barn will NOT be prompted and previous experience with these particular dances is strongly recommended.
We will, as in past years, be publishing a Ball Booklet with instructions for the dances. This will be mailed ticket holders, along with a CD of the tunes, about 6 weeks before the ball. Instructions will also be posted on this webpage in June.
A Pre-ball review of the more difficult dances will be held at the hall the afternoon of the ball, from 1:30 p.m. - 4:15 p.m. Admission will be $5. There will also be several designated Ball Dance practice classes scheduled in the weeks prior to the ball, at various places around the area. They will be posted here when they are scheduled.
