Toss the Possum with Bonnie Insull

Laura Zisette • Rob Zisette • Bonnie Insull

Toss the Possum, a family band, puts a unique twist on Celtic, Southern and Old Time fiddle tunes, including Rock-n-Roll and jazz influences.  They are known for their driving renditions of traditional tunes and for creating color and rhythm on the fly.

Hear Rob Zisette bend and sing on his acoustic fiddle and sizzle on his electric 5-string fiddle.  Add to that his sense of humor, improv looping, fantastic beat-boxing, vocals and other surprises. With Laura Zisette backing it all up on keyboard, you’ve got a band that is ready to create magic with the caller and the dancers.

For the last 6 years, the Possums have been joined by Bonnie Insull at dance festivals across the country.  A leading light of the Southern California English and Contra scenes, Bonnie complements the band with her energetic fluting and foot percussion.

Curious George & the ABCs

Ashley Broder • Ben Schreiber • Christa Burch

George Paul, Ashley Broder, Ben Schreiber and Christa Burch - Each bring their considerable talents to us for intense, energy-packed music that will move your feet all weekend long.

George Paul is well known in Contra circles having played his funky, bluesy piano all over the country with many fine musicians.

Inspired by many genres, Ashley Broder is known for her fluency with the mandolin, violin and cello. She performs regularly with The Syncopaths and released the solo album “Two Trees” in 2016.

Ben Schreiber plays the fiddle with Irish and New England sound. He often plays as one part of the duo Uncle Farmer.  He enjoys modern twists on old favorites, and sets mixed with pop rhythms and improvisational flair, as well as composing original dance tunes.

Singer and bodhran player Christa Burch possesses a singular voice; warm, supple, expressive, intimate — and instantly recognizable. She performs regularly with The Syncopaths and has released her own solo album “Love of the Land”.
