First Friday Dance Parties General Flyer

PLEASE NOTE: Due to a last minute circumstance beyond our control (a scheduled power outage by Southern California Edison), we have had to CANCEL our June 2 First Friday Dance! There is no longer a dance on Friday June 2nd. Please join us on Friday July 7th instead. We are working on rescheduling the wonderful Split Peas for another date.

Join us for our First Friday Dance Parties!

From time to time the dance party will take on a special theme or celebration, perhaps to tie into the month (e.g.: Valentine’s Day, Halloween, Winter Solstice), or present a special dance event, such as a speakeasy or cabaret.

The California Dance Cooperative Los Angeles is a volunteer organization and we need your help. If you enjoy the folk dances that we provide, please help keep the dances happening. If you would like to help, please feel free to contact a board member by email or at the next dance you attend or join us at our next board meeting.

The California Dance Co-Operative is a non-profit organization for educational purposes. We promote the study, preservation and enjoyment of traditional and historical dance of the United States, Canada, and the British Isles.

Our vision is to preserve and further the enjoyment of traditional dance in community settings.

Our dances are held in comfortable social settings throughout Southern California and feature mostly live music. Newcomers are welcome and there are lessons available prior to many dances. You do not need a partner to join us. Comfortable soft-soled shoes are recommended. If you would like more information, please see our menu on the upper left of this page or call the hotline number.

We look forward to seeing you at the dance!
